Xbox 360 Case swap Lian Li XB-01 Mod Near SILENT

I’ll cut straight to the chase. I HATE the Xbox 360 for its dreadful volume. I dont care what anyone says, even without the dvd player running this freakin machine still sounds like its going to die with its funky fan noise. The only noise i like is noise coming from the speakers. Enter the Lian Li XB-01. I am a super minimalist so the crazy flashing LED’s and acrylic windows isnt my thing. It’s like putting vtec stickers all over a car. Stickers dont make it quicker. A lot of the modder crowd despises this case because it doesnt have any flashing lights or gorgeous curves, but fits my criteria nicely and looks pretty darn excellent with my setup. I also place a 120gb hdd in there so i can install all my games ( i only have like 5 i want to play so far ) w/o hearing the jet engine. There is still one noise that bugs me…the power supply. Stupid high pitched whine. video on that when the time comes to buy! Also need to swap out the two Lian Li fans with more silent Nexus ones. I know i may have sounded a small anal about the noise but the truth is, i really am that anal. Thanks for watching! The build can be seen here: www.cheapassgamer.com

where did you get the case, and is it just a simple take out, place in job? or did you have to make any ajustments to the lian li?

well you certainly got the box silent (except for the buzzsaw drive) but i still hear that shrill PSU in the background. for me thats the worst part, i can deal with the loud fans because honestly it doesnt even upset the amount of noise my PC puts out but that high pitched tone from the power supply drives me crazy.

You should use Noctua NF-S12B FLX 120mm fans, persons are SUPER QUIET and have very effective airflow! yes they’re around 20$ each, but don’t not remember they also come with a 6 years warranty, and also comes with anti-vibration rubber grommets!

@flakko86 my terrible, but the 120mm fan as a rule should place out loud of airflow with small noise (dont like the shroud much, rather go for watercooling).
and the delta fans in the 360 are the best, the other brands whine and place out less airflow, raw deal., people need to check out delta fan vids on here, mental manufacturer

mines a core (06) ive got a 120gig hard drive installed all my games to it, dead silent, try the same.
also see what fans you have, ive got deltas the loudest (due to the huge airflow they give), sunon and the otherones give a loud squeel

i would add four custom fans that blow air out like jet and some other fans (place it were it doesn’t ruin the air flow) and make it blow air in. it would be a consent air flow.

I have the original core system of 360 wich first came out and when i turn it on it sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

Just wondering flakko86 as someone that has obviously fixed the 3RR before how is the system running now with your fan setup? Have you had any freezing or lag and have you seen any Red Rings?

i like the lian li case beacuse it stops the rrod and the 2 red lights but wat i dont know is why do ppl bitvh about the xbox 360 makeing noise with the orginal case i mean like i never ehar it u got to have like super sonic hearing to hear the orginal xboxs nosie and its not like any one pays attention to the nise

Don’t get the case. Saw some videos of the temperature of the console and it gets hotter in this one because there is no forced airflow over the GPU.

how hard would u say it is to take the 360 apart and place it back in that case??
i certainly interested but i dont want to ruin the 360 by no being able to place it back together.
also do you need any other additional parts for the swap??? or the case comes with everything u need?
