Xbox Hardmod Problem
Posted on 22. Jul, 2011 by admin in Xbox Mods
Today I tried to turn on my xbox and this is what happened. I don;t know what is incorrect with it. It is version 1.6 with a X3 chip and a 170 GB harddrive.I have also lost FTP access. I *reckon* the hdd *might* have overheated and broke but i am not sure. I really hope that is not the case. But still, I am not sure what is incorrect here. Please take a look and see what could be the problem.

The install went terrible beacuse if this is a hard mod then you would have to place that small modded chip in your xbox motherboard and if your xbox doesnt turn on the chip is off so i advise you to take the chip out

looks to be a terrible install, if its a 1.6 you should have had to do an lpc rebuild on the underside of the board. I’d dissasemble it all and make sure your solderings excellent, dual check ti by running the iron over the pinheader or wires to make sure your solders flowing excellent. It might be down to something as simple as a terribly flashed bios though, let me know how it turns out.

Hey, was your chip working fine after installation. If it was. Try to disconnect the HDD and turn on the xbox. When you have the same problem it might be a hardware problem. Check if none of the extra wires are disconnected.

Something probably came loose… try checking the cables and on the TV and VCR also. The only other thing that I can reckon of is the solder job you did wasn’t enough and the chip may have come loose somewhere on the motherboard.
